Egypt in Flames

I don't really have much to say about it, but this is to be expected.

Man's legitimate desire is to be free. It can be no simpler than that. Liberty is the heart's desire of everyone.

When governments become repressive, as Jefferson wrote, it is time for man to assert his fundamental rights. Egyptians are doing so. It is not for us to meddle. This is an internal struggle. America is obligated to assess the coming change and decide to befriend or ostracize the new government. It is simple.

If Egypt chooses freedom, America must support it. If Egypt chooses more repression, America must deplore it. Present Occupant will choose wrongly unless he embraces the free exercise of dissent without further violence.

I am no authority on the Middle East, but I know Liberty, and I choose Liberty.
