Fiscal Court Report On Jail

Tonight Barren Fiscal Court will hear a report from its investigator. The report is about the jail.

All questions should be answered after tonight. If you have a question, go to the meeting and ask.

Do You Really, Truly Want Spending To Stop?

The entire post could stop with the title.

Are you serious about ending profligate spending? Are you willing to pay more taxes so government can expand? Will you vote against your representatives if they vote against your economic self-interest? Do you think they are smarter than you when it comes to your own money?

I have determined to cast my vote this year against the big spenders. I have studied and studied about my decision. I have not reached it without a lot of thought.

I believe in second chances so I will support Brett Guthrie. If he doesn't keep an eye on his voting decisions, he deserves a primary in 2014, and I will vote for his GOP opponent.

Gas Tax Givens has already proven his unworthiness to serve so I will vote for Don Butler in the senate primary on May 22, 2012.

I will vote for Mitt Romney against Present Occupant. We must have new leadership in the White House if we are to stop the downward spiral of the economy.

It is pretty simple really.

What will you do?

Vote Don Butler

I've spent a lot of time and energy working at politics.

In the early years of my political life, I was so filled with righteous indignation at the profligacy of government that I spoke out early and often against the ever creeping reach of government.

As I grew older I never moderated my views, but I did moderate my presentments. I enjoyed some success as I was elected to office, and I suffered because of the election losses, one in a primary and one in a general. I choose to speak out now without moderation against Gas Tax David Givens.

On May 22, 2012 I will be voting for Don M. Butler for State Senate, Ninth District. He deserves your vote too.

The incumbent, Gas Tax David Givens, is a terrible Senator. He is unresponsive to his constituents unless they are willing to kneel and kiss his ring, and he has an unmatched ego, and I know something about ego since it is purported that I have one.

At a time when it is tough to make ends meet, Givens continues to support ever-growing government with higher taxes. The perfect storm in all this: At a time when gasoline is selling at historically high prices, Givens voted to raise the tax on gas to make it even more expensive for all of us. Tell me, how much more out of touch with average Kentuckians could this elitist be? Then, if he ever comes around to a part of the district, it is only to attend a 2011 fund-raiser with the doctors who he sold out in 2012 by voting for a budget that includes funding for Obama Care!

My friends, we must defeat the incumbent David Givens and elect Don Butler. Our state senator should stop voting more and more money to Frankfort and let us keep it to use as we see fit. After all, it is ours to start with.

Join me in voting for Don Butler on May 22. We need a Conservative in the state senate from our district.

It's Mitt!

With my usual talent for understatement I'm saying Mitt Romney is the GOP nominee. He is my man against President Obama. I am looking forward to supporting the Romney team in November.

More importantly, I want to help elect more Conservatives to Congress so we can stop spending ourselves broke.

In Kentucky we have few choices, but those of us who keep up with politics at the national level know that candidates like Ted Cruz of Texas, Josh Mandel of Ohio, Don Stenberg of Nebraska, and Mark Neumann of Wisconsin are worthy of election to the United States Senates. In the Utah primary Don Liljenquist should be elected instead of Old Bull and 36-year incumbent Orrin Hatch. Thirty-six years! And he is asking for more. But I am chasing a rabbit that I will catch later.

At the local level, we Barren Countians have a chance to send a Big Spender home on May 22. Our primary pits Gas Tax David Givens, he of the crafting solutions with government at the forefront, against Don Butler, former Metcalfe County Judge Executive and Coroner. Butler deserves your vote.

Gas Tax Givens has quickly ingratiated himself to the Big Government crowd. He never met a program that he thinks should be cut. He is unwilling to cut any spending that I can find although I haven't looked all that hard. I just know he believes more money is needed in Frankfort. It must come from your pocket and mine. It is time to send him back to Greensburg.

If that's not enough for you, Gas Tax Givens voted in favor of implementation of OBAMACARE for Kentucky by voting in favor of a bloated budget that includes money to fund the abomination! What arrogance! This one single vote is enough to send him packing, and we should do all we can to see that he goes home for good.

Please vote for Don Butler. We need a new Senator. We must have one. Gas Tax Givens is not the man he tries to make us think he is.

Oops!

Most local "print" Media have become advertising circulars. They are caricatures of their former iterations.

It is the obligation of local "print" Media, because of the power they wield to influence local thought and opinion, to present news whether it is good or bad.

This is not to say the publishers and editors cannot deviate from the primary focus. It is their full privilege to do so. However, they should not pee down our legs and tell us it's raining. Most of the news and opinion of local "print" Media is directed towards "getting the cat out of the tree" type feel good stories.

What about the decisions of the local legislatures? When do City Council and Fiscal Court write budgets? When will the local school boards consider the property tax rates? What does 911 do with the money they collect from phone service? Does 911 have a big cash hoard?

I guess news is in the eye of the beholder.

I Made Up My Mind Early

2008 was an eventful year for me.

In August I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. The bad player was excised, and I am fully recovered. I am most thankful for this blessing.

That year I was pleased to work for the election of our present state senator, Gas Tax David Givens. I made a mistake. We elected a Big Government Republican of the worst sort. Gas Tax Givens is singularly unresponsive to his constituents. He is unappreciative of the efforts of common folks like me from his first campaign.

Old Gas Tax wants to "craft" solutions in Frankfort, and that is Gas Tax' biggest problem. He believes, like every good little Progressive, that all good solutions come from government.

To be fair to him, I told old Gas Tax in November of 2009 that I would oppose his re-election if he voted for one single penny in additional taxes. You see, if we starve the evil beast that is state government, we have less intrusion on our lives, and we can work to make our lives better by crafting our own solutions without people like old Gas Tax holding out his hand for more of our money.

Well, old Gas Tax did indeed vote to increase taxes, namely the Gas Tax, so I am voting for Don Butler. Gas Tax caused his own problems with me, and he knew I was serious.

No one who voted to raise that gas tax deserves one single vote. I hope it beats them all. Starting with Gas Tax Givens.

On May 22, 2012, please vote for Don Butler and hold old Gas Tax Givens accountable for his votes. Just like me.

Who Cares?

Do you ever wonder if anyone cares?

We work all day. We make ends meet because that is what responsible adults do. We have precious little help from our elected leaders.

Until we demand accountability at every governmental level, people will continue to be discouraged by the blithering idiots.

Are you ready for them to go?
